Independent, central authority of trust and complaints office for the police

We're here to help

The team at the independent central authority of trust and complaints office for the police acts as a central point of contact to assist citizens and police officers in the state of Saxony.

You can lodge complaints and other submissions relating to Saxon police here. Please ideally ensure your submission is in writing, so as to enable transparent processing. You can, however, also contact us via the citizens' hotline or request an appointment.

Please note

This authority's work and rights are governed by Section 98 of the Saxon Law Enforcement Act. The complaints process is not a substitute for other legal processes, such as criminal proceedings or regulatory offence procedures. Your complaint will not suspend or stop the deadlines stipulated for lodging appeals in said proceedings.

We are not a police emergency hotline and do not accept criminal charges. Please contact your local police station for this.

Important information for parties lodging complaints

We will read every complaint received, and first check to ensure it is something we can deal with. To ensure the general transparency of these decisions, please refer to the following aspects in the PDF document below.

Annual reports of the Saxon police's central complaints office

The annual reports contain the number of complaints received and the handling thereof during the respective reporting year. Any submission criticising the work of the Saxon police or the conduct of police officers is classified and processed as a complaint.

Complaints can be submitted by citizens and police officers alike.
