Visit the State Chancellery
Welcome to the Saxon State Chancellery
The Saxon State Chancellery and part of the Saxon State Ministry of Environmental Affairs and Agriculture are housed under the golden crown. If you're interested in learning more about the 113-year-old building, we invite you to take one of our tours (approx. 70 minutes). Following extensive renovation and reconstruction work, the building's original look has been restored. Tours provide information on the modern-day uses of the various rooms, the historic symbolism, the building's past uses, and the structure and tasks of the Saxon State Chancellery. Sit at a cabinet desk and listen to the weekly meetings. This journey through time (and the building itself) ends with a visit to the »beehive«.
Tours are available between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday and only if booked at least 14 days in advance. They are particularly suitable for children in grade 9 and up, as well as for adults. Ideally, group numbers should not exceed 25.

Government District Open Day
On 11 June 2017, the Saxon state government once again invited visitors to the 15th government district open day, allowing all those interested to peek behind otherwise closed doors and learn about politics in the Free State.
Many visitors have expressed their interest in the Free State's political scene and attended the open day over the years. 2016 marked the event's 14th edition, with many visitors expressing their interest in the Free State's politics. The traditional morning pint provides an opportunity to chat with various ministers and state secretaries, as well as Minister-President Stanislaw Tillich. Information booths and presentation areas provide visitors with information on all kinds of topics. They can also participate in tours and, if they're lucky, sneak a peek inside the Minister-President's office.
